Aether
An editorial dark design system for intelligence and topology products, where brutalist grids and oversized italic serifs collide with prismatic chromatic glass.
Concept
Aether treats refraction as a metaphor for intelligence — light decomposed into signal. The system pairs deep matte-black surfaces and halftone dot textures with a single signature gesture: an iridescent cyan-magenta-amber gradient used as a thin chromatic ribbon, edge-lit border, or glass orb. Typography splits a bold geometric grotesque against an oversized italic transitional serif, in the spirit of long-form editorial. Layouts are strict, asymmetric, and gridded; ornament is rare but uncompromising when it appears.
